Ian Arthur

I am a photographer and I live in the coastal town of Helensburgh, which is near Loch Lomond and just outside Glasgow. I am a full time photographer, making a living as a commercial and social photographer and it’s all I’ve done for over 30 years.

As well as taking pictures for a living, sometimes I take pictures for pleasure, especially when I see something that inspires me. I use digital and film, and I also use an old victorian process called wet-plate collodion. I use whatever cameras I have to hand, or whatever inspires me at the time to be creative.
